What you'll do

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve core payment services — design, build and run backend systems that move real money at scale.
  • Design event-driven microservices in Java & Spring Boot, with Kafka as the backbone for high-throughput, low-latency flows.
  • Model and tune PostgreSQL schemas and queries for correctness under concurrency and heavy write load.
  • Ship to production on AWS with strong observability — you'll own your services from PR to on-call.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers, review designs, and raise the bar on reliability, testing and API quality.

What you'll need

Requirements

Must have

  • 5–8 years building production backend systems in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on with distributed systems and message streaming — Kafka or equivalent.
  • Strong SQL / PostgreSQL fundamentals and API design (REST; gRPC a plus).
  • Comfortable operating services on AWS with CI/CD and monitoring.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Terraform, or service meshes.
  • Fintech / payments domain experience, and an eye for security and idempotency.
